When lounging at home, I always sit or lie down at places from where I can look at the sky. The sky has a very tranquilizing effect on me. It takes me back to my childhood when I used to live in a government quarter with a huge open veranda. There, I used to lie on a cot under the sky and spend my time reading comics or talking to my folks. In winters the direct sunlight used to keep us warm. It also used to warm up the blankets and quilts to make the chilly winter nights very comfortable. On hot summer evenings, when frequent power cuts used to make us restless, we used to seek its cool and comforting embrace.
Sky also makes me feel one with God; one with the universe and shows how insignificant and small we are in the whole system.
In the city, when all the concrete rattle my nerves, all I seek is my share of the sky. In the past, I have often lied under it and wondered at the stars.
I dream of a home on a higher floor or penthouse, and feel the fortifying presence of the sky in my life.
these days even I am doing the same thing......whenever I get frustrated or irritated or feel like crying my heart out I seek solace in sky. It soothes my mind and my temper....
