Scattered moment

Those days I used to live in Delhi. My folks had arranged an alliance for me back in Bihar. But before finalising things, the girl's parents wanted to see how I lived in the city. So they came one day. I welcomed them without having any clue as to what to talk or do. Not knowing any better, and the fact that I lived alone and didn't cook, I offered them Fanta and Kurkure. I was trying my best to make small talks when my phone fell down. As all its units got scattered in different directions, I got really embarrassed. But all I was thinking about was not wanting to spend on another phone. Actually the agency I was working at, paid me a pittance and I hardly had any savings. So, I meticulously assembled my phone in front of them. Thank God, the phone was just fine and working perfectly. It was really sturdy. I think it was Nokia 3310. They liked me. Later I used it to speak to my wife (actually my would-be wife at that time) for hours everyday. They still remember the incident and fondly laugh over it.
