Love stories da naya funda

Bollywood has a brand new formula for love stories. Now the love struck couples don't have to contend with their uncompromising parents or anyone coming between their relationship being consummated. The villains now a days are the inner doubts, confusion, skepticism, pride or inability to identify the true feelings or the right person...
I think Hum Tum, starring Saif Ali Khan and Rani Mukherjee set the trend a few years back. Since them numerous movies have followed the trend: Love Aaj Kal, Break Ke Baad, Band Baraat Bazaar, Anjana Anjani, Socha Na Tha, Jab We Met, Ayesha...
It truly reflects the times we live in, when the role of the parents in deciding on a career or a marital match has been greatly diminished. Now a days, parents have become more of friends who youngsters lean on for emotional support. They no longer make and impose their decisions on them. Youngsters chart their own courses. They prefer to make their mistakes and learn and sort their feelings and lives themselves.
